About Laurie Markey

Marriage & Family Therapist Associate, MFT-A, LPC-I
If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive” -Brené Brown.
Thank you so much for visiting my site. What I have learned about being a human, let alone a therapist, is that everybody has a story. My job is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to tell your story. Life can be very difficult for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes these struggles can feel overwhelming, leaving us confused and hopeless.
Most of us can relate to feelings of uncertainty and hopelessness. In fact, it was my own experience in counseling that compelled me to become a therapist. In addition to my education, I have a lot of life experience that helps me come from a place of empathy and acceptance.
Therapy can help put things into perspective; heal the past, navigate the present, and write your most beautiful story ending. I would be honored to walk beside you on your personal journey of healing and transformation
